PELS Workshop for doctoral researchers studying families and personal relationships
5–6 May 2025 in Jyväskylä
The workshop is organized by The Finnish Society for Research on Families and Personal Relationships / Perheiden ja läheissuhteiden tutkimusseura ry. The workshop is sponsored by The Alli Paasikivi Foundation; you can apply for a travel grant!
The Finnish Society for Research on Families and Personal Relationships (PELS) will organize a workshop for doctoral researchers 5–6 May 2025 at the University of Jyväskylä. The workshop provides doctoral researchers an opportunity to get to know other doctoral researchers studying themes related to families and personal relationships, and to present their on-going research with a paper. In the workshop, the papers will be discussed among doctoral researchers and senior researchers who represent different disciplines and have different methodological expertise. In this workshop, we will also have a poster session in which doctoral researchers can get to know each other’s work.
The participants can send a paper in either English or Finnish. Workshop discussions will be in English and in Finnish. The paper can be of any theme related to research on families and personal relationships, and it can be any part of the doctoral dissertation, such as an article draft, a chapter of a monograph, or a study plan.
Participation in the workshop is free of charge. The workshop is organized by the Finnish Society for Research on Families and Personal Relationships (PELS) in collaboration with the University of Jyväskylä.
Sponsored by Alli Paasikivi Foundation, PELS will award travel grants of 200 euros to approximately 12 doctoral researchers who do not have a possibility to get travel expenses paid by other sources. The grant can be used for travel and accommodation costs. The grant will be paid after the workshop.
The workshop will be held in connection with the Hope and Resilience conference organized by the University of Jyväskylä 6–8 May.
The workshop will start on May 5th at 12:00 and end on May 6th at 12:00.
